Tonino Loi is a sculptor and painter who has always lived and worked in Belvì (NU). Since 1982, he has been exhibiting his works, participating in solo and group exhibitions that have taken him to various cities, including Paris, Grenoble, Moscow, Rosario de Santa Fe, Buenos Aires, Milan, and Rome. His works can be found in collections all around the world.

In addition to being an outstanding sculptor and painter, he has distinguished himself as a multifaceted and visionary creator. He has demonstrated his commitment to art not only through his expressive works but also as the organizer of sculpture gatherings held in Jerzu, Belvì, and various picturesque municipalities in Sardinia. These gatherings have provided opportunities for emerging artists to share and inspire, bridging the gap between tradition and innovation.

The sculptor has left his mark in the field of decorating renowned restaurants, both in Milan and in his beloved Sardinia. Through his artistic talent, he has been able to convey the stories and traditions of his homeland, creating unique and engaging environments that embrace Sardinian culture. The eclectic artist, with his extraordinary skills in sculpture and painting, has dedicated himself to an ambitious project: to monumentalize the most iconic traditional resources of each municipality in picturesque Sardinia. Starting this exciting artistic endeavor in Ottana, he created an epic monument celebrating masks, an enchanting and captivating symbol of island culture.

Through the artist’s majestic work, the past merges with the present, preserving Sardinia’s cultural heritage in an enduring testament to identity and tradition. With an impeccable mastery of his artistic techniques, the talented sculptor, painter, and artist managed to capture the essence of Sardinian masks, transforming the transient into an eternal symbol of the island.

But his artistic vision was not limited to the Ottana masks. His creative spirit and passion for artistic exploration led him to Teti, where he brought to life the bronze statue of Abini, a colossal basalt statue that stands majestically at a towering 5 meters in height. This monumental work is a tribute to the power of nature and the ancient connection between humanity and the earth, leaving an indelible imprint in the memory of anyone who contemplates it.
His tireless commitment and dedication to art knows no bounds. Currently, the artist is collaborating with several municipalities on the island, pursuing innovative projects that hold the promise of making a profound impact on the social and cultural fabric of Sardinia.
